I'm looking for some advice. Ive recently purchased an old pine armoire, its quite regal looking with a lovely decorative crown - although not too Rococo.
Its got shelves rather than a rail and its about 125cm wide by 200cm high. Its going into our sons play room. I dont have a colour scheme for the room decided on yet but am thinking of dark grey walls and injecting some colour through a rug and the furniture items in the room. At the moment all I have in the room is a red beaten up old chesterfield so it really is a blank canvas.
I love the Poldo Como orange chest I saw recently at Conran, but not sure if Im that brave and I think it might clash with the red of the sofa. I also love the yellow of the E-Series Polychair chairs by Robin Day.
The armoire is currently stripped bare waiting for me to decide on how to finish it - I want it painted and have until Wednesday to tell the painting company what colour!
This is where you come in - any thoughts, ideas, inspirations?

There was another chest by Conran (I think) called something like Napoleon, which was a similar high lacquer but in a chartreuse green. It looked fab and I think the colour would look good against the grey and the chesterfield.
My other suggestion would be a turquoise colour.
Sounds fab, hope you will post photos when finished!
