Well done. I love it, in particular your pendant lights over the breakfast bar in the kitchen, your clever jib door (in the bedroom, is it?), the mustardy-yellow lampshade in the sitting-room (can I ask where it's from?) and the airiness of it all.

Its incredible how different the before & after photos feel. The after photos... just beautiful, with loads of personality and warmth. You have done a wonderful job, and I particularly love the soft colours of the paint and wallpaper, and the hidden door. I bet you love walking in the front door!

It looks beautiful and very homely and welcoming, well done! Though I was rather taken by the dark ceilings in the before shots, I must say!

I don't log in very often but had to. Your flat is beautiful, warm and (I want to say) soft even if that sounds strange. The bedroom is perfect, I love it!

I LOVE your secret closet door! Its fab! Edenrose is right about the quirky furniture - not an easy thing to pull off without it looking too much like a junk shop, but you've done it really really well. And the muted colours throughout just make it all gel beautifully - it all looks fantastic.

Thank you very much for your lovely post gwd. The yellowy lampshade in the living room is an Ikea bargain. I just checked their website and I think it's called Kivsta. The secret door is in the bedroom and opens into the wardrobe, my favorite thing about the flat! We had the best joiner to make it possible. Thanks again.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. Edenrose, the lace curtains in the bedroom are another Ikea bargain... they are actually a pair of £8 lace curtains with another pair of cheap white curtains behind, I stitched them together at the top. Easy peasy! Thanks again folks.

Thank you very much for your compliments tigerpug, very kind of you. It really does feel like home now I think it helps that we took the before photos on a wet day and that we waited to take the after photos until it was gloriously sunny! It's been a great project to do. Thanks

It's all beautiful and the colours you've used make it feel really spacious. Well done! It looks like a lovely home.
Please can i ask... On your 2nd photo, where you can see into the room with the radiator on. What colour paint have you used?
Also where are your teal and brown patterned cushions from?
Sorry for being so nosy! It's all just lovely

hi monica_geller - thank you for your lovely, positive comments. to answer your queries; the paint we used in the 2nd bedroom was craig and rose 1829 moonstone grey and the cushions were from john lewis. here's a pic of bedroom 2 (we forgot to include it with the original post). thanks again to all for looking.

Really beautiful. My sort of home! I love all the quirky furniture- it is great to breath new life in to them all. Love the bedside book holder- is it a cuckoo clock? I would feel really at home there- well done

Hi I really like your use of colour. Some lovely touches.
Can I ask where the curtains in the second bedroom are from?
Well Done You

Lovely home, really like the wallpaper on the 2nd photo! Have you put wallpaper on the door into your closet? It looks really nice and thanks for sharing it.

Thank you again everyone.
Anna (ajojo), of course...the curtains in the 2nd bedroom are another Ikea purchase.
Noodle, the bedside book holders are birdhouses attached to metal shelf brackets. We were inspired by a fab birdtable/birdhouse bedside table from Living etc last year.
We papered the door to the wardrobe, and put skirting on it, to make it look a bit like a cheeky, wee secret room. This month's Living etc has amazing wall paper with fashiony silhouettes that I would love to cover the inside of the wardrobe with but that might be just a dream!
