Hi Decaf. I'd never heard of this shop until you posted - then I went past one in Newington Green (north london) this morning.

I didn't go in though as it was too early and their shutters were down.

OOh, Lindsay, didn't realise they had a branch in London. I must go as I've always loved this shop!

Eames, as you're obviously an Ebay and old stuff expert, if ever you see an antiquish folding wooden chair for sale, would you mind letting me know?

I saw a beautiful little one at an auction when i was a student but didn't stick around for the bidding (probably couldn't have afforded it - but nothing's changed there!)

What i'm after is a plain wooden one that's engineered so it folds together really well, so it's almost flat.

Yes, LOL, saw that website...not great, is it!!!?

Of course, will have a look around for you. Strangely I saw a PERFECT chair last year that I almost bought but sanity won out, thankfully!!! If you want to PM me your budget, I'll take a look and get back to you, hon!

And are you after an adult chair or a child's one? (Sorry, might seem daft but there are a lot of the latter ones around...)

Aaargh! this website is driving me nuts

Eames i've tried PMing you twice and the page just went blank when i clicked send so i've given up and hope you'll see this.

I'm after an adults folding chair that can be hung away (shaker style) when it's not in use.
I don't really want to spend more than £50ish - preferably less as my salary was drastically reduced a couple of months ago. I don't mind if it needs work cos i've got fairly capable woodwork skills but i do want it to have been well designed and constructed in the first place.

Please don't go looking especially - just if you see one on your travels that you're not after. Many thanks Lx

I love Three Potato Four, similar but different is www.wintersmoon.co.uk. I saw them at Kids Modern and they had great vintage toys and furniture etc. I could easily have spent a fortune.

Thanks Lavender, they have some lovely things. I especially like the fabric sausage dogs! I will have to restrain myself. Step away from the credit card....

Why oh Why did I not raid my grandmothers house when I was little and squirrel everything away. I want those flour and sugar shakers.

I can't believe I've cut up my credit card - maybe it's a good thing I have

update on the newington green shop - turns out it's called 'one potato two potato' and is a childrens shop and hairdressers. I got off the bus specially today and was sooooo disappointed. Saved myself a fortune though i'm sure!
