After 5 years we have finally finished refurb on our Victorian terrace in Shepherds Bush. The slowness was pretty much due to finding the money to be honest, we'd have loved to do it all in one go. But on the other hand taking our time has allowed us to be really picky and find things we like but can afford. It was pretty good timing too as our first baby has just arrived and I really don't fancy doing the kitchen refit again with her about! [image]

Wow. What a gorgeous place - you must be so proud of what you've achieved. Love the kitchen and the sliding doors to the garden, looks like an ideal place for chilling out and partying too!
Just a few questions - where did you get your dining table from? I can't see properly from the pictures but it looks like it's covered in text of some description. Also is your dark flooring the original boards? And what is the flooring outside?
Great home, well done.

Gosh that was quick I didn't even think I'd loaded it all up right I can't seem to make them look any bigger than thumbnails, but maybe they work when others look! The table is just an old pine farmhousey type table, which I have papered with old sheet music from my fatherinlaw, who was in the Bach Choir and it has all his pencil notes on it. I then coated it in boat varnish. Its very poignant now as he recently passed away so it's a nice reminder. Thanks for looking,

Gosh, absolutely stunning and so many lovely things to look at! Love the sense of space you have created, both in the house and the garden, and the unusual treatment of the hall into the living area. The little shadow boxes by the baby's crib are intriguing me...what are the objects in them? Also loving the People Will Always Need Plates wall decoration and the horse mannequin in the kitchen - where's that from? Many congratulations on your lovely house and the birth of your baby! Fabulous.

Congratulations -- on the arrival of the baby and your glorious refurb. Well done. Of the many, many things I'm loving about the house, I think my favourite is your stairway: the purple carpet is gorgeous and I really like the way you've hung your pictures. I can never do them without them looking twee or contrived; yours look drop-dead classy

thank you for your message. The shadow boxes are just cheap ones from Ikea and then as FIL was russian he had these old Russian fairy tale character as little wooden models (flat ones, I'm not describing very well) so we mounted those in the boxes as they were just sitting in a shoe box until then. They are nice actually we were pleased with them

thanks ever so much, the crib is from my cousin - she has lent it me so I don't know where it's from originally, I'll ask her next time I speak to her though, it is modern not an antique or anything and as it's so big hopefully it will last a year nearly.

Wow love it all, love the mixtures of styles. Your kitchen is stunning, love the stairway, love your rosewood wall unit, love your pictures, in fact as you can tell love it all, very inspiring. Is there any chance you could take a close up of the pics behind the crib as they do look very good.

Oh my, what a lovely home you have!! Everything is so stunning. Congratulations on the new baby too, what did you have? The crib is super cute and stylish i want one in case i breed again. Don't want to freak you out or anything but your baby will be rolling climbing, pulling him or herself out of that before you know it!!!lol I bought a lovely rocking crib for my daughter thinking it would last for ages but i had to buy a cotbed when she was 4 months as she started pulling herself upright and leaning over the side, i almost died of shock one morning !!!! Back to your house, i love the kitchen and the doors and the beautiful table you made. The photograph and picture collections you have are lovely and did i mention how jealous i am ! thanks for posting x

Yeah, it is a real shock the first time your baby is not where you left it - mine hid behind the sofa!! I love the lamp in your little ones rooms too. Is it onyx?? The shade is great - where did you find it?! xx

The lamp was Onyx it is very 80s! but i've covered it in these pages from 1930s french magazines that I found, the lamp shade is what it always had when I was at home. I was going to change the shade but maybe I'll keep it now you mention it.

Stunning! Very stylish, I love it! So much to mention, I love your radiator in the hallway, your staircase, flooring, french doors, kitchen, kitchen table, fold back doors... its all really lovely! Can I ask, is your kitchen area a new extension or did you fill in the side return or both? It looks amazing whatever you did! You must be very proud!
