wow. really nice. Really like the bright colours in the living room. I love the 1st bedroom, the wallpaper. Can I ask what colour are the walls in the 1st bedroom?

love the colours in your flat. I particularly love the bedrooms and the bathrooms. Those tiles are beautiful. Where did you buy them from? Many thanks and welcome to the forum.

What a corker! Everything looks very new and tidy...have you just moved in? The bathroom looks very sexy. Makes me feel like I must tidy our house up a bit... you've put us to shame.

I like the way you have made a feature of the joists rather than trying to make them blend in. Agree with Mel about the tiles, the slim ones are really nice. Also particularly like the coffee table. Well done!

Re: Shad Thames Warehouse Flat

Thanks everyone! So glad you like it! We've actaully lived there for about 3 years and have gradually done things up. But now its all finished we're selling up and moving on (the photo's were taken by our estate agent, which is why its so tidy!!)

The bathroom tiles came form Spacers Tiles in Ruislip (great shop, v. knowledgable staff) and they're from the Evolution range.
Paint in the bedroom is Dulux Rum Caramel (number 6)

Lovely! Again, love your tiles and use of colour and the wallpapers. Also your trough sink in the bathroom.

The thing I love most though are your windows - they are fabulous!!

Are you moving to a similar property or going for a different feel? You definitely need some more mess in there!

Re: Shad Thames Warehouse Flat

fabulous - fresh, modern, full of light... and huge!
The planners should ban knocking down gorgeous old warehouse/factories with lovely big windows and make flats like this!
And perhaps we should all get the estate agent in to take photos even if we're not moving house?!
very inspiring.

Really really nice.

Someone has a serious cushion obsession though - it's like whenever I go to stay at my mum's, it takes about half an hour to clear cushions out of the way before sitting on the sofa or going to bed.

Congrats with the Win, love what you have done. The flat is so bright and airy I bet you're sad to leave... all that hard work! Agreeing with 'Houseenvy' about the joists and beams, the orange is fabulous (very brave) it soooo works!
All the best with the new place (and project), any ideas of what you're going to treat yourself with from Habitat? Enjoy...

Hi. Fabulous flat and I'm particularly jealous of your lighting. I've been trying to source some wall lights for several weeks (I need them to be bright enough to read by); where are yours from and do they perform as well as they look? I like the Arco-alike, as well.

Hope this works; I'm a total novice with chat rooms

Very nice job. I have a flat further along the river from you! Can you please recommend a good plumber? I am desperate to find one who can install a wetroom and will work in Central London. (SW1)

Many thanks.

(links really could do with being more obvious on this forum, they really don't stand out at all).

Yep, there's tonnes of inspiration on their site.

They've also published a book with some of the featured properties in - available from Amazon, and probably other places too.

Hope I'm not too late to ask a question about your brilliant work here......love it all but am especially intrigued by the shelves that go into your (presumably stud) wall....how did you or your builder do that...its so effective?

Re: Shad Thames Warehouse Flat

We had to build the stud wall out in both of the bathrooms to allow space for pipe work and create fixings for the floating vanity units.

It was a last minute stroke of inspiration to build shelves in to the walls. I asked the guys to build wooden boxes, which they stained to match the vanity units and then fixed in to the wall. I think it was quite stratichtforward. Very useful to have a bit of extra surface space as the bathrooms were both quite small.

We've since moved house and I'm working on my next bathroom - I plan to put similar shleves in again!

If only I were! Those photo's were taken by an estate agent when we put it on the market in january.

I think the trick is wait for a sunny day, turn all the lights on and use a wide angle lens.

Re: Shad Thames Warehouse Flat

Very nice! I love the whole modern look, some of the more traditional things like the garage looking wall seems a bit out of place, but really great overall. The only thing I don't like I would say is the bathroom tiles, there's just way too much of it.

Can I ask who fitted your lovely bathroom?

amybelle

Re: Shad Thames Warehouse Flat

The bathrooms were done by a company called Homepride builders who did a great job - especially the tiling.

All the fittings are Duravit from C P Hart and the tiles are from a great shop called Spacers (http://www.spacers-uk.com/)

Re: Shad Thames Warehouse Flat

Hi Amy,
I hope you don't mind me contacting you. I’m working on a new tv series for ITV called House Gift and I saw your post on this forum and thought I'd ask you to see if you might be interested in taking part. The concept of the programme is that three experts descend on an ordinary home and compete to choose an antique, painting or object d’art that will win a permanent space in the heart of the household. They each have very different budgets and the homeowner chooses which gift they would like to keep but they don’t know who’s bought which item or how much each item’s worth. That won’t be revealed until after they’ve made their choice.

I'm looking for people to be involved in the show and was wondering if you would be interested. If so, please email me at laura.harding@itv.com with your contact details and we can have a further chat - no obligations!
If not, no worries, I thought I'd ask just in case.
Many thanks,
Laura.
