Hi... We thought we would share some pics of our efforts. We have been in our little house for about a year and a half and have just about got the inside how we like it... Next stop the garden if only it would stop raining!

Wow! That's gorgeous.
I adore your Lucy Mclauchlan prints (I've got the heads print waiting to be framed), and is that a Tara McPherson in the bedroom? Great use of mirrors in the alcoves (will be stealing that idea!), gorgeous pieces of furniture and loving the office in what I assume is the attic. I like the pops of colour throughout as well. Thanks for sharing.

Great job. Love the lighting throughout. The shallow black lampshade is gorgeous - can you remember where that's from? We have the Habitat tripod light, too, with that colour shade. We love it! Great that you have pulled off the minimalist look but with a real sense of personality. Agree that the pops of colour really stop it feeling clinical.
Also really interested to know what software you're using to join your pics together to get the wide/panoramic shots or is that just photoshop or something?

What a lovely house. I love your dining table and chairs - are they originals? Also love your dark wooden flooring - it looks fab. (And it looks as though your dining to kitchen arrangement is v similar to mine - glad I'm not the only one!)

Hi everyone
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments, we are really chuffed! In response to your Q the shallow light in the bedroom is from a shop in Sheffield - http://www.light-attack.co.uk/introla?category=la
The picture in the bedroom is by Kid Acne we got it from http://www.archipelago-art.co.uk/ Yes the living room ones are lucy mclaughlan, we really like her stuff.
The dining room set is from ali's granny - ercol? We found the coffee table in a second hand shop which matches so that was cool. A and L

Hi - assuming you mean the snug in the bottom picture... It is the attic room, when we got the house it was open to the eaves with just an old curtain separating the attic space from the slates. There are two structural beams in that area one running just above the floor the other at head height. Rather than build a wall along that line we decided to create a wall with a seating area (at the height of the lower beam) and shelving built into it. There is more storage either side of the seat accessed by hingeless push catch doors. The shelving in the foreground is built into a new balustrade in front of the staircase and is sized to house cds. The seat and the shelving are finished with birch faced ply routed, glued and varnished. Thanks again ali

ahh - now that is clever (the snug under the beams) Makes a change from dead space or hidden cupboards One for Conran's future editions of his Small Spaces book (like he ever knows about having to live like that)

Hi,
That table in the bedroom was from Ilva, in fact the wardrobe was from there too. I've just looked on their website to find and saw they've gone into administration... They did have this similar table though, http://www.ilva.co.uk/product/58900054/cute?maingroupurl=tables&webgroupid=27
The floors were just the existing boards sanded and varnished with Ronseal Dark Oak varnish - we are really pleased with the colour.
Thanks Ali
