"BLACK AND WHITE MEMORIES" book by DAVID BAILEY
RARE SIGNED FIRST EDITION
This a rare opportunity to own a signed first edition book by iconic photographer, David Bailey.
Published in 1983, the book brings together the most representative selection of Bailey's black and white work up to the end of the 60s. The photographs were chosen by Bailey himself, mainly on aesthetic grounds. The subjects reflect hisinterests at the time and include many portraits and fashion photographs along with some personal shots and several East Londons treet scenes.
The 129 duotone plates have been made from prints produced by Bailey. This collection also provided the basis for the "Black and White Memories" exhibition of Bailey's work at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London in August 1983.
The photos in this book offer a cross-section of people and fashions in the 60s and show important stages in Bailey's glittering career. The text describes his career up to 1969
It's in great condition although the jacket is torn across the top and is dog-eared but that doesn't detract from what is a fabulous collection of work by one of the UK's most talented photographers. The book cover itself is black with the title and author on the spine in silver
Signed by Bailey
This is a great addition to any photographers/art lovers collection
