WHY? Lute Suites offers the perfect opportunity to sample living in your own Marcel Wanders-designed studio space.

STAYING IN From the outside, the converted 18th-century gunpowder factory is all bell-shaped gables and dormer windows. But inside, the triple-level interiors open up into whimsical, contemporary spaces with 10ft-high windows, futuristic bathrooms and state-of-the art design pieces courtesy of Wanders' design company, Moooi. All have kitchenettes equipped with espresso machines, and a basket of fresh bread and cheese can be delivered to your door each morning. Alternatively, hire the Lute boat, complete with a private onboard chef, and go canal cruising.
OUT & ABOUT Take a walk or cycle ride along the canals, or head to Nine Little Streets in Amsterdam, great for boutiques and big Dutch names.
